On Friday morning I got off the train on my way to walk, walked through New Street station...and promptly had a pink foam pig thrust into my hand. Slightly bewildered by this, I pushed it roughly into my bag (all the while hoping that I hadn't just accepted a small and jovial looking bomb). It's really not often you're presented with a free pig on your way to work. However, it seems to be fairly common in Birmingham. The pig invasion continued throughout the day, and by the afternoon the whole office looked like the set of a B-Movie. By the time I left on Friday night, there was at least one grinning foam pig on every desk. I'm not sure I want to go in on Monday.
